retro shiney micron-brewery

Got some shiney's on the way not very converntional, but i like them

there are four of them, nearly all identical. Their mains filled water boilers, opposed to manual filling with a jug/tap. Think the water is dispensed under pressure so will have to bodge in from the back. Dont think their very big mind, but i do like em alot and their gona look very shiney and very pretty, proberbly small experiemental brews, which is what i was aiming for anyhow!!! all gas burners, dont know if they have temp gauges or not. they should be arriving tomorrow so will try to document the transition from retro boiler to micron-brewery. and now i have found bes for fittings, i dont have to go see the grumpy ****** off pluming guy round the corner.

end up geting another larger brew setup no doubt :lol:

Dunno about micron, they look quite big and very shiny to me

not sure about pics, they may be TOO shiney, but i'll try.

I'm swaying between positive and negative at the mo, arrrr too small, not water tight, or oooow shiney shiney shiney and big to brew, time will tell

even if they are small at say 15/20lt they look cool as funk, james brown would be like "aaaaow, hit me one time they dam shiney..."

Arrrr its a sad day, counted my chickens too early. their not suitable at all. I will see if i can do some bodging if not they're goin onthe bay, gona keep on for a cool plant pot.

Well you take a risk and sometimes get burnt, they would have made a awesome line up of heater, mashtun, boiler and P fermenter and still might yet

I'm in the process of making a coolbox and i picked up a large stock pot with tap, so its still a gogo, but back to the drawing board for the brewery

They're very efficient well designed water boilers. There is an internal copper insert inside the main casing, the first half of the boiler is like a kelly kettle/storm kettle in that it has a thin chamber around a chimney then expands to a larger reservoir. so the water in the thin jacket lower part of the tank heats up very fast, rising and drawing colder water down. basicly the capacity is very small and fills up like a toilet with a ballcock from the mains.

The gas valves are beautiful, they look like the art deco, or 50's repro. i'll take some photos soon as. pretty little things

I have thought about seeing how much it would cost to have jackets fabricated to slip inside if i remove the existing boiler, they just look too shiney and pretty to give up, and i'm far too stubborn. but all in the only cost £25 each, inc the courier. if i cant sort them out i'll keep one or two as pretty plant pots and the other two will go on the bay
