Replacing Grainfather thermometer

I’ve buggered the cable coming out of the controller. It still works but it’s knackered. I’d rather not have to buy a new controller just for the thermometer. Is it replaceable? I’m handy with a soldering iron. I know I can’t buy a direct replacement but thermometers aren’t all totally different are they? Any suggestions for replacing it?

Its always worth contacting grainfather. Their after sales service is amazing, they might send you the replacement probe or even offer a discounted unit. The screen on my unit was faulty and they just sent me a replacement, no questions asked.

The controller won’t work doing that.

Give them a call to see what they advise,

If you can reattach I think I'd solder and heat shrink it and test to see if the temp is accurate.

Someone on here may know the probe type if not
