I'm fairly new to home brewing, my first attempt was Woodforde's Wherry which will have been in the bottles 3 weeks on Friday, can't wait to try it, very tempted to sample it after 3 weeks is up, but it's still looking quite cloudy, so maybe I'll give it 4 weeks. I may have to try it before (just for quality control you understand)

Second brew is St.Peter's Golden Ale which has been in the bottles less than a week.

However my question is what to brew next?

Bitter is my prefered choice and I do like a hoppy ale, I'm particularly fond of Badgers Hopping Hare. I'd like to stick to the kits for the time being to build my confidence and understanding of home brewing.

So any recommendations for a hoppy ale? :drink:

If you like that "citrus" ping from dry hopped beer then the Woodforde's Admiral's Reserve could just fit the bill.

I'm drinking one at the mo and it really is smashing stuff.

I found, like your Wherry, that it took a long time to drop completely clear - perfectly fine for a wee sample when nearly clear though!! :D

You could try any pale ale kit then dry hop?

Woodefords Great North Eastern (I think it's called) was one of my earlier kits and one of the best, but also had great drinks from Brupaks kits.

Yes the Admiral's Reserve is certainly worth considering, and you can't go too far wrong with the Woodforde kits.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have read a little bit on here about dry hopping, it could be my next stage where I learn to tweak a kit slightly, before progressing my brewing to something a little more adventureous :drink: I think It's all about building up your knowledge little by little, understanding what you're doing why you're doing it whilst gaining confidence.

You get a massive bag of hops to put in the FV while its doing its thing, lovely brew

Not one I've heard of before, but thanks for the suggestion, I like the sound of a massive bag of hops.

Too many real ales out there and not enough time to try them all, the same could be said for brewing your own ale. :drink:
