I've tried Edme's Superbrew Gold Irish Stout and was very pleased with the outcome.

I've Sampled Milestone's Black Pearl also, didn't think it was that much better than my Edme kit.

Can anyone recommend anything else that's tried both of the above?

cant recomend coopers stout kit enough especially if made with 1Kg med dried spar malt instead of sugar
see jims beerkit site for ditches stout
if allowed to mention that is

Cheers
I'll give that one a go.

barley botoms chocolate coffe stout if you want to try all grain stout kit is a cracker well worth learning the dark side for and then if you still need more stouts look in the recipe section and search for 4 shades of stout and the one vossy made think it was a sam smith clone
you will have so much choice if you can get to all grain that you will wonder why you bothered with the kits in the first place.

Another vote for Coopers, but I have trouble getting them local, so tweak Edme stouts

Coopers all the way, especially with the spraymalt. Will be brewing a 10% version in the next few days from a recipe originally posted by Muddydisco. Should have started it a couple of days ago but local HBS had no Nottingham Yeast. Ordered some from Barley Bottom for the first time. Prices and P & P seem pretty reasonable.

Cheers Neil

I too fancy a Stout Kit (thats not a euphemism!), anyone got any pix of how theirs turned out?

I like the idea of being able to fool my mates

Iv'e tried Edme dry Extra Stout, but so far my favourite is Brewmakers Irish Velvet. I'm a Guiness drinker when I'm out &, in my humble opinion, it's the next best thing in a kit. :drink:
I really do like stout
