Hi All, I dont often get chance to come on here, but when I need advice you guys are always on hand. I successfully made elderberry and blackberry wines last year and have only 1 bottle left!

Ive been given loads of black grapes yesterday so need to get going with a new batch but Ive had a quick search on the internet and as yet not managed to find a recipe.

Ive not been able to purchase any campden tablets yet because there doesnt seem to be any around where I live so can I stick make some without using them?

Please help me oh gracious wine buffs, Ive got the grapes ready to go but dont know what to do with them!

Many thanks :thumb:

i know its abit late (ok, verry late) but if you get more grapes.....

pulp grapes (with hands, feet or tatty masher :D) in a fermentation bucket... for each 1gallon of pulp, add 3lbs of sugar...
if you want rose wine, leave in for 3days.... if red... upto 10. stir every day... (no yeast needed due to bacterial yeast in grape)

strain through muslin into a DJ and fit with airlock.

once fermentation stops, transfer into sterilised bottles :D
rack for 6months or so.... and enjoy :D
