i dont have all the equipment that i need yet. but im planning on buying it this weekend. i got hold of 2x 18.5 litre water bottles. the ones you get on water dispensers. are these bottles good as demijohns?

Yeah, can't see any reason why not. The only slight issue you may have is that they may be a little awkward to clean. Other than that they should do just fine.

You will need a bung and airlock suitable for them though, which might be hard in obtaining if the neck is a weird size.
 
I will try and put a link up tomorrow for the bungs for them, I have just picked one up myself :lol: they are solid bungs so you will have to drill them but they are the right size for the bottles
 
im pretty sure the neck is about 50mm wide. there are bungs on ebay that width. im hoping they will be suitable for it.

dont quote me on this but I think most air locks are 9mm but if I am wrong can someone please correct me :D
 
has it still got the blue cap on? if it has i just drill mine out and use a normal bung in the hole.
 
Going to try the rasberry TC next week :)..

I got hold of 3 x 18.9 liter waterbottles and I just pulled the top off and i could press out the inside. Made some pics and added them to an older thread :).

i made a gallon up a few weeks back using 200g fresh raspberries. going to rack and put out in the shed tomorrow for a month or so.
 
racked this off today and put out in the shed for a month or so and set off another gallon using 250g of fresh blueberries in this one
