Quality bottling stick?

My plastic bottling stick always leaks despite taking it apart to clean. Has anyone got a solution. Has anyone tried a stainless steel version?

I found that my plastic bottling stick (from Wilko) did leak a bit when I attempted to use it with tubing, but works fine with a tap that's drilled into a bucket. I've not ever removed the bottom section where the valve is from my stick, only the top bit of plastic.

I cannot say anything about stainless steel bottling sticks as I don't have one, but the Fermtech bottling sticks are better than the standard plastic ones, and can use the same tubing as an auto syphon.

Probably find that the rubber sealing ring has gone a bit hard and no longer creates a firm seal.

Time to buy a new one.

How bad does it leak ?

These days I’m usually bottling from an FV that has a tap and I just turn that to stop/start flow through the pipe. There’s always a bit of leakage but I just ignore it.

Appreciate you may be syphoning, so no tap but maybe a bit of leak is ok. Or is it a gush

I got this one from Ali express.

I got the same one, works great and screws apart for cleaning.

As Brewed_Force says it works well no significant leaks and can be completely disassembled for cleaning. It even comes with a cleaning brush.

I've had two cheap plastic bottling sticks (I think they were made by Young's) - never had problem. Maybe you were just unlucky with the one you got? Not sure why being stainless steel would prevent leaks
