I have bought tinned pumpkin from Tesco just roast it the same as fresh as far as I'm aware
On the videos i have seen they just add the tins and don't roast them. Didn't know you could buy it here, thanks.
Looking at some recipies it might be worth sticking some cinnamon or cloves or both!

Reading a recipe from the US and it recommends adding the roasted pumpkin (butternut squash type) to the boil rather than the mash. For spices they use cinnamon nutmeg and ginger with a touch of vanilla. They steer clear of pumpkin pie spices.
I have read that you can get clarification issues from adding it to the boil did they mention if that was the case?
