Customers at a Cornwall pub are being charged for leaving too much food on their plates.

The Star Inn, in Vogue, near St Day, is charging people if they fill their plate at their all-you-can-eat carvery and leave "excess leftovers".

One customer said she was surprised when she was charged £2.40 a plate for leaving waste food on two plates.

Landlord Mark Graham called the amount left "pure waste" and said it was clear from signs in the pub that "excessive waste may be charged for"

Hate these all you can eat type places. Rather a tidy plate of well made food. But what did the landlord expect.

I fully support the Landlords efforts. Some people are real pigs and so wasteful.

Also most restaurants get charged for food waste bin uplifts.

We don't as we are an offshore restaurant. But we do have a dog and cat on the books as waste disposal/vermin control and two huge composters that eventually feed the raised beds. Our waste is minimal athumb..

So that customers can take meals home for the rest of the family, but only pay for one...and someone really tried that. No.

Doggie bags are only available for the standard menu.

I was joking but thanks for the info ;)
