Private messages problem

Don't know where I am going wrong here, but having trouble getting PMs to move from my outbox to sent :?
I am assuming that submit should make the message go :)
Have sent messages in the past but seem to have lost the knack, must be old age
So what am I missing.

Think they only go to sent from outbox when they've been read S
