I'm really sorry if this has been asked but I have found so many different answers so here goes. My question is how much sugar do I need to prime my bottles when I bottle it? It's the coopers aussy lager. How many grams per 500ml for example. Many thanks and sorry a gain for asking. :D :thumb:

Ps. i batch prime. This means racking to another bucket and adding the total amout of priming sugar then bottling. i find this easier and better.

Depends on what you're brewing i.e. lager, bitter etc and how long you're going to store it (or can wait) I add a tsp full per 500ml as I like my lager to be fizzy, half a tsp to bitter, and It doesn't last more than 3 weeks after secondary until it's scoffed. :drink:

I also batch prime as it is easier and seems to be better

thank you very much for all your help i think i will use a level tsp of normal sugar per 500ml bottle. I will keep you posted on how it turns out I can't wait for the first fisst of the bottle.

You are still getting many different answers.

If this is your first (?) brew I would err on the side of caution and perhaps just put 1/2 tsp in. You will still get decent carbonation and it will be perfectly drinkable. If you prefer it more fizzy next time use a full tsp.
