Hi hive minds, been idly fiddling this morning with bits I have in the shed, whilst waiting for my Fermzilla to arrive. Came up with this plan:

Had some car Schrader valves knocking about, and wondered, just wondered, if they'd fit the top bung of a minikeg... Wheel, whaddya know, like it grew there!!
Inserted into MK, then pumped up to 10psi with footpump, and it leaked.
Looking closer, on dismantling, I noticed a small hole in top bung (pressure release??) which I closed with a section cut from a rubber O ring. (again, in my "mad scientist" box, as SWMBO calls it).
Success! It's been sitting at 20psi for an hour now, so looking like it's a successful trial.
Now, how to use it? Condition in MK, checking pressure with a simple tyre gauge? Ferment small batches of test brews under pressure?

Your thoughts, genii of this forum...

There are some decent homebrew tap arrangements in the other thread.

There is a punt I may try where based on the 31mm measurements (bit iffy I think on that thread measurement) I believe the black bung seal for the minikeg may fit inside the beer growler spear and still allow the barb through the centre hole so you'd get gas, liquid and pressure release. I would't use the thread. Those beer growler spears aren't cheap though at around £25
