If you look at respected benches neither side has that much strength in depth, but City do have slightly more.

Wow
My prediction of 0-0 was absolutely crap but wtf has happened to Liverpool. I was hoping they'd do United a favour but they are in free fall. Losing your CD's is bad but putting your best midfielders there is not good management as it weakens two areas of play. Better to play young defenders and keep a solid midfield.

TBH i would have settled for a draw before the game with no KDB and regular striker i didn't fancy the game much, 10 goals for Phil Foden if Southgate doesn't pick him on his present form i will not be happy.

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has called last season's Premier League winners Liverpool "bad champions" and says: "Keep performing like that and it will be another 30 years before you win the title." (Sky Sports)

I am not sure i would go that far, they have 5 players out according to physioroom.com VVD has been a massive loss for them and the commentators were saying the players who had to fill in are not up to the job, their fans who phoned 606 last night said Clopp got the team selection all wrong and were saying he has lost the plot.

We have been fairly lucky this season so far losing KDB and Sergio at the same time is not good but at least they don't play in the same position, we need to keep our defenders fit as they seem to be our weakest link if any of the regulars miss games.

We all know some football fans are morons and do some stupid things but this is taking it too far -

If social media companies don't nip it in the bud they should be prosecuted then closed down if it carries on.

Referee Mike Dean reports death threats to police and takes weekend off

The referee Mike Dean is to step back from officiating duties after his family was threatened on their private social media accounts, becoming the latest victims in an ongoing tide of online abuse against prominent football figures.

Dean has reported the abuse – which included death threats – to police and will take no part in the next round of Premier League fixtures, the referees’ body has confirmed. He is expected to return the following week. The incident apparently followed Dean’s decision to send off West Ham’s midfielder Tomas Soucek in the closing seconds of their draw with Fulham last weekend.

With Manchester United’s Lauren James and Axel Tuanzebe, alongside Bristol Rovers defender Mark Little, also the recipients of racist messages online in the past few days, social media companies have once again come under fire from governing bodies and government alike.

The culture secretary, Oliver Dowden, responding to the racist abuse of James and Tuanzebe, raised the prospect of the Online Harms Act curtailing the freedoms of platforms if they did not act. “We are going to change the law to make social media companies more accountable for what happens on their platforms, and they can start showing their duty of care to players today by weeding out racist abuse now. Players must not be abused for doing their jobs – enough is enough,” he said.

The Premier League’s chief executive, Richard Masters, called for “proactive intervention” following the targeting of Dean. “It is inexcusable that Mike Dean and his family have received online abuse, including death threats, as a result of doing his job officiating at a Premier League match,” Masters said. “Mike and his family have our full support in reporting this to the police. This once again highlights the need for greater proactive intervention from social media companies to stop online abuse and identify offenders.”

West Ham successfully appealed against Soucek’s red card on Monday, meaning the player will not have to serve a three-match suspension.

After Bristol Rovers contacted police over the incidents involving Little, in which he was targeted by an Instagram user who subsequently deleted their account, Avon and Somerset police said they would be looking to establish the personal details of the offender, a key demand among those who say platforms are not doing enough to stamp out abuse.

“As part of this investigation, we’ll be contacting the social media company to try and obtain the details of the account holder and the incident will be referred to the UK Football Policing Unit and Kick It Out,” Inspector Rob Millican said.

The head of referees, Mike Riley, added: “Threats and abuse of this nature are totally unacceptable and we fully support Mike’s decision to report these messages his family received to the police. Nobody should be victim of abhorrent messages like this.

“Online abuse is unacceptable in any walk of life and more needs to be done to tackle the problem.”

What has happened to Liverpool they dominated last season, i realise the long term injury to VVD has been a huge blow but surely they should still be competing.

Klopp has lost his Mojo

The wheels have come off they have now lost their past four fixtures.

Everton secured a first Premier League win at Anfield in 22 years as goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson dealt a blow to Liverpool's top-four hopes.

Richarlison opened the scoring in the third minute when he was played in on goal by James Rodriguez - the Brazilian driving a low finish across Alisson.
Jordan Pickford then made a number of important saves to deny Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as the hosts tried desperately to get back level.

However, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought down inside the box late on and Sigurdsson confidently scored from the spot as Everton secured a famous win that moves them level on 40 points with the Reds.

Liverpool, with several players unavailable, also suffered a further injury setback as Henderson limped off in the first half.

Defeat for Liverpool continued the defending champions' poor form in the Premier League as they have now lost their past four fixtures and are three points behind fourth-place Chelsea.

1923 was the last time Liverpool lost 4 on the trot at home, i am listening to 606 and wonder how long before someone rings in calling for Clopps head.

Well that didn't take long 19:27 in and a Liverpool fan has just said Dalglish should replace Clopp for the rest of the season then Gerrard should take over permanently

2 mins

GOAL - Arsenal 0-1 Man City
Raheem Sterling
Ah. You can't give Raheem Sterling two chances within the opening two minutes! Criminal.
Riyad Mahrez teases the full-back on the right then lifts it into the middle. Sterling, one of the smallest men on the pitch, gets there ahead of Rob Holding.
He nods it into the left corner. Ruthless.

Six straight home losses for Klopp any other manager would be sacked. He’s totally lost the plot and should take a break.

Poor start from City 4 minutes in and a goal down from a penalty and they nearly got a second after we gave them the ball in our box.

All i can say is a wonder any of the players can still walk the amount of games they are playing and that goes for all teams, to say Kloppo should be sacked is bollocks, also i think Kieta has a mental block today he showed on a couple of occasions what he was bought for running at defences like he did at Liepzig, it's like he gets there then backs of and passes, anyway Klopp is going nowere
