Posting bottles

This is a new one on me, but it seems posting bottles is a suspicious act. The BBC caused a bomb scare recently for doing just that and may get a bill for £5000. "...A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said it was likely that posting a bottle would arouse suspicion..." The article is on the BBC News website HERE

They better not blow up my next bottle swap entry. Although it does throw a new meaning on bottle bombs. :grin:

I think we can relax for the Bottle Swap (Secret Santa). Their bottle had a camera inside it, which must have looked suspicious on the scanner! It was going from northern Ireland to the BBC Panorama office in Salford.

As long as no one puts any electronics in the beer...

This will bugger online wine merchants, whisky sellers and similar then. Lone bottles might not arouse quite the same degree of suspicion though.
I would imagine if you were posting presents to your family and packed a couple of bottles of something nice with an alarm clock and a socket set they might be a tad perturbed though?
Chrimbo bottle swap should be fine. I have a couple of whisky cartons that can be used.
