Roger. I have been on forums for a while and I have to say you win a prize for most outstanding question (probably ever).

Is this a weight, size & destination quote from the Web, and make sure you use pet bottles?

HB as in home brew.

The question was looking for advice on best shipping options (noted on the PET bottles) and carriers and avoiding my friend in Austria having to pay import duty on a gift.

Ever since we joined Brexit I see reports from people sending gift items to EU countries of long delays and charges being levied (reports of quick transit as well).

I suggest you check with one of the big courier firms what the rules are, what paperwork is required, etc.

Pre Brexit etc we used to send all manner of things to Australia. The best way to avoid import duty for your friends is to put BIRTHDAY PRESENT on a customers declaration slip at the post office. Or Christmas or Easter…
With regard to how to send the beer am interested myself.
Also looking to take some HB to a friend in Indonesia was thinking of putting bottles in my case inside ziplock bags so if they are broken the liquid is managed a little and my clothes not wetted. or I put my clothes in plastic bin bags too !
