Hi and thanks for the review. I must say I think I have a extra high tolerance to hop aromas as I was thinking I hadn't added enough :D.

The taste side turned out really well and will definitely be a recipe I repeat. I have tried version 3 with some extra Zeus hops and so far it is not as good as the version I sent out.

Ahh the quest for the perfect pint.:) I'm the same. You brew a really nice beer and then decide that it can be improved by making a few little tweaks. It never seems to work out for me and I always end up brewing the original.

The aroma wasn't too much, just not what I was expecting. Lovely beer.
Hope mine reaches you in one piece.

Cheers

Well...mine has arrived and I have to say my juices were running from the start.
Expertly packaged and then you can see the loving care that has been put into the label design...exquisite mate, well done
And now the beer...
GOD its beautiful
Tons of citrus that dances on the palate half an hour after a mouth full and a very subtle maltiness (wheat)
Hey...its just glorious and hats off to D_A ,a truly remarkable brew and many thanks for sharing
How can I top that...impossible
Ive employed my lads to dig a tunnel to Com**** and nick the lot..
Richard...you are a marked man in my book, watch you're back

Well how can I reply to that :)
Thanks for a great review :thumb:

Going to have to move the beer fridge to a secret location

My turn for a couple more review (how can you tell I am enjoying this :drunk:)

First up Northern Brown from Vinland Brewery:

Initial impression was the gorgeous colour. Dark brown and crystal clear.
Initial subtle malt aroma. Flavours came through as malt with a hint of chocolate. Not over hopped which worked really well. A really nice well balanced beer which was finished much too quickly.
Proves that not all beers need to be hopped to breaking point

A cracking beer from notlaw :thumb::thumb:

Next up is HopBomb:

Poured great with an aroma of citrus and melon.
Drinking I got melon coming though although there was another flavour that I could not put my finger on. The fruit was accompanied by a subtle bitterness. Again left me wanting more.

Nice one dan125 :thumb::thumb:

Cheers Guys :drink:

stop it at once :nono: you're making me jealous I have to wait to the end of the week to open mine!

Drank your bottle tonight. A lovely drop. Only issue I would say was there was only a sligh head that went quickly. Lovely citrus flavour and aroma. I like my beers hoppy and this hit the spot. How did this taste when you first made it? I ask because I notice my hoppy beers fade in flavour after a while. Certainly made me want another. Thanks once again. I will put mine in the post tomorrow

I drank mine on saturday whilst I was brewing. There wasnt much head retention when I poured it but there was lacing in the glass all the way down to the last drop which I really liked.
I wasn't to sure what to expect tbh. Looking at the recipe spec sheet I was a bit worried it might bee a bit hoppy for me (not being much of a hop head), but I needn't have been concerned as DA got the balance perfect. Not punch in the face hoppy as some Americanised versions of beer styles can be, but a nice level of citrus as I'm not keen on grapefruit. I'd have happily paid for a pint of it in a London bespoke artisan craft ale pub

This has been a fun read, if there's more swaps in the future I'd definitely be up for throwing my name in the hat.

Hi Leon, thanks for the review.
I must say I haven't noticed any hop fade with this one yet but, bizarrely, I didn't think it was that hoppy :)

What I like about this bottle swap is the variety of beers that I have received. Some are styles that I probably wouldn’t buy. The following two fit into that category.

But firstly an apology. I had taken photos of the beers but when I came to upload them I found that I had managed to change the auto setting and the photos didn't come out plus I had drunk the beers by the time I had noticed so couldn't take any more :oops:
I did manage to get a shot of the empty bottles though:

Pretty Floral Bonnet Firefly Beers
Elderflower Blonde Ale (love the label)

Gorgeous sweet elderflower aroma on opening the bottle and pouring. I got a good initial head but, as said in the notes, it did disappear but left some nice lacing around the glass.
Lovely light golden colour that really said ‘drink me’. So I did! And I was very impressed, a lovely hint of elderflower that was neither overpowering nor too sweet. A really well balance refreshing beer. I wouldn’t change much but some wheat may aid the head retention.

Bragdy 666 Brewery
Biere de Garde

Alcoholic spiciness on the nose giving a hint of malt and sherry.
Nice strong flavour showing some sweet malt with raisins and alcohol coming through. I was struggling to put my finger on all the flavours and even went as far as checking the note in the GH book. I must say I can picture you brewing this in an artisan farmhouse in the Welsh countryside.
A great beer with a strong flavour. Top marks
Ps. The yeast was worth it
