Hi all,

Brewed a first gold session ale a little while back and kegged it in a corny keg , and bottled 2 pints worth.

Been in the keg 2 weeks and drew off a sample.... yak. Metallic, sharp, almost vegetable taste? Hard to explain.

Just tried one of the bottles from the same batch and wow, damn tasty..

Have I got an infection in my corny?

I hope not. 8 hours worth of beet down the drain. :(

I cleaned out with hot water and bleach after previous use, looked spotless, rinsed thoroughly then shook with starsan. Then filled with co2 to keep the nasties out. 3 weeks kater On kegging day I rinsed once more than starsanned again. Emptied the dreggs, purged with co2 then filled the keg with a syphon tubing from the tap of the FV...

Did you clean all the poppets and the dip stick bit etc . Veg sounds like you had lid on when boiling ?
Alas I didn't disassemble it :nah: , just ran the cleaning solutions through the tap under pressure etc.

Don't think it'll be to do with the boil.. I had the lid off the whole time and one of the two that I bottled tastes really nice, none of those nasty flavours at all
