Hi everyone.I have a keg but wondered if anyone of you use pop bottles like the cola ones to put your beer into? I need 40 of the pint ones or less if I use the larger cola or lemonade bottles..Any advice would be great :D

Yeah, they're fine. Just sanitize and adjust the priming sugar for 2 litres. Most beers take about 2tsp for 2L, maybe 3 for lagers.

Only thing to note if you have to pour it all at once, so do it into a jug and drink it with friends, otherwise you've got 4 pints of beer going stale in front of you! The little bottler might not work either because it won't reach to the bottom, but someone on here will have a fix if you use one.

Those bottles can withstand high pressure so by all means use them - they just don't look great :p

ah ok..many thanks..Actually I have just bought the little bottler a few mins ago.
Yeah I thought the little bottler may be too small but if I do it at a angle it may press on the side somehow..I have also got a large 2 pint glass so maybe I should fill that up :D
I expected the cola bottles would be good as it already had pressure from the cola put into the bottle so I assume they will withstand the pressure from the beer..Many thanks for your help..

+1 for the above , i used to use the 2litre bottles when i started but quickly changed to glass 500ml or pint bottles still use some 500ml plastic aswell just means every time you open a bottle its a fresh one :D

yeah the 500ml or the pint ones do seem better but I was looking at the PET ones on ebay but I would need 40 of them plus the tops.. But I understand that it's better just using the smaller ones..No wastage..hmmm have to think more

Just left Tesco Durham with 2 cases of these, 1 Demi John, several erdingers until my own stuff is ready and a couple of Belgian raspberry wheat beers for research.

Happy days!

I used a little bottler when I first started on pet bottles too. Worked fine on the 2l when I used it, so hopefully you have no problem either...

Hi all
Are all tesco's doing the bottles because iv got a coopers lager on and iv just used most of my bottles on a turbo cider lol :)

I think only the big ones. Our local one doesn't carry any HB stuff. Remember if you use clear pop bottles to keep them in the dark. The Coopers ones are brown.

Wow, the next time the Mrs bursts into the room and wants to know why I'm drinking so late...

"Research?"

:thumb: Has to be done. Got quite tempted by the reviews I kept reading but alas its not for me. Better a bottle or two than 23 litres!
