Re earlier post below my tea bag wine is starting to overflow the jar what do i do there is a layer of brown stuff in the neck of the jar please help going out soon so may have to put it outside looks like latte coffee

a tray, the bath tub or a sink? An over flow pipe would be an idea for next time. :thumb:

I love it when the beaties go wild!

thank you so much for the reply do you think it will settle down or will it be spoiled with the Thing from outer space creeping out

It will be fine, next time leave a good head space and top up with cooled boiled water when the fermentation has eased off

Yes my neighbour saw it and said the same i did fill it up to the neck It has settled down a lot thanks

thanks so much for advice so glad i found this site
thing is there is a layer of brown foam around the neck that is leaking into the airlock otherwise the wine looks a lovely colour. should i just leave it and will this start to drop down eventually? It looks like the yeast froth you get when making bread. i need to calm down too its worse than having a new born baby!!!! my son said he will baby sit for me when i go out

Every thing is ok...just let it be...the foam is just from the yeast when it started off...it won't harm anything...leave it alone it will calm down in a few days :thumb: you should finish up with a nice wine...

next time fill to shoulder then after the initial zazazvoom fill to neck with cooled boiled water. that last bit is important if you hate cleaning demijohns. or the crud ring will be around the shoulder and is a git to clean.
