I've used small 3Kg packs of German pilsner malt for the two lagers I've done but think a 25Kg sack might be better value in the long run. Is there a UK supplier doing this :?:

I've seen UK lager malt offered in 25Kg but not pilsner.

The usual Home Brew Shops should be able to get it for you - the Hop Shop has it on their website nad I'm sure Hop and Grape could get it as well.

It is still a bit cheaper to buy it direct from Brouwland in Belgium - even with the shipping cost and the awful Euro-Sterling rate at the moment. Brouwland only sell uncrushed malt though.

:thumb: Thanks for the link Steve, I'll ask at H&G next time I'm in their web price on 25kg is £62.50 + PP.

Comparing UK lager malt, which I've not used yet and pilsner is there any big difference in character :?:

There doesn't appear to be a massive difference in character to me . . . . . I've used Weyermann pilsner malt for the last 10 years, but this year I have switched to Warminster Lager Malt . . . . . I've not used any yet as the last Pilsner used up the last of my Weyermann, but I don't think there is going to be any massive surprises.

I went for 25KG of UK lager malt and 25KG MO from Hop Shop plus extras. Their bulk grain charges are as far as I can see cheaper than the rest and carraige very reasonable.

 Steve & A for the advice.
