I like old cars they have character unlike many of todays cars which all look alike.
As we will all be driving glorified milk floats in the not too distant future here is a thread for those that still love the ICE.

Probably the best car i ever owned a Cortina 2.3 V6

My old mate had a 1.6 Cortina when we were about 17...leaked petrol through a busted filler pipe when he cornered. We fixed that with some mesh and filler. He also busted a wing on it which we somehow replaced but never painted it. I remember going with him to buy it...£150!

I had a 1979 "T" white Cortina 2.0 Gt with a black vinyl roof with the sports wheels and stainless steel wheel rims.

I also rated my Capri highly unfortunately it was only a 1.6L would have loved a 3.0L but they were too expensive to run as daily transport.

What was your favourite car back in the day?

My Dad had a similar vintage Cortina but unfortunately wasn't a V6. I think he would have classed it as one of the worst cars he'd ever owned 😂 He traded in our Citroen DS Safari for it which was starting to generate some big bills. The Cortina didn't last that long as he accidently reversed it into a bollard at low speed and the whole rear of the car caved in. Cars weren't built for strength back then. All I can remember about it was it was brown with a vinyl roof 🤢

Had a string of Volvo estates after that.

I have always had a soft spot for a Golf GTi and think once I have no need for such a big car I will get a new one. I don't particularly have a favourite Mk, they have all looked nice over the years, also wouldn't mind one like this.

I liked the early boxy ones (first pic) but for me they ruined it when the got to the rounded one (pic 2) and beyond -
