Whurr the ol' M5 crosses the ancient M4...
Just noticed that SimplyHops have a 5kg bale on for £20.20 at the moment - sorely tempted to get it just to play around with hop bursting as that's just mental value...

...anyone any experience in using Perle as a main aroma/late hop?

Delicate, slightly spicy, some say with minty notes (eg. my father in law). In larger amounts similar to Northern Brewer.

Good spot and the price is right. I have a couple of packet of these for my planned pilsner, what do you think Z.
A lot of hops for little money and other good deals, wonder what the postage is, will go and see.
Had not checked out one of your sponsors

Anyway if anyones around dundee im up for splitting some with them

I've used them for bittering in a snapa and in German Hefe's :thumb:

This year I was unable to bulk buy locally grown Perle (£5 for 1 kg T-90 pellets), I was told Polish brewers don't order this variety anymore. I ordered Hallertau Tradition, but my father in law said after first sip "it's not the same, previous beer was much better". ;)

What was the recipe Zgoda, if you don't mind me asking?

Perle is the main hop in my favourite ale from a local brewery - Vale VPA :drink:

Perle as main hop with Cascade as late and dry hop.

600 gms Vienna or pale Munich, 200 gms pale crystal (~20 ebc, the "sweet thing"), top up with pilsner/lager malt to 1.044. Standard mash. 30 gms Perle at the beginning of boil, 20 gms Perle 10 mins from the end, target bitterness ~25 IBU. I brewed this beer 5 or 6 times last year and the best was fermented with US-05, then MauriBrew Ale close, least appealing was fermented with Notty.
