I work with oxygen a lot, and as I'm very new to the brewing game I've latched onto the generally accepted idea of trying to incorporate 02 into the wort prior to pitching the yeast.
Would it be worth bubbling through some 02 to give it a headstart? With a well fitting lid saturation levels could be pretty good, though wouldn't last too long unless a hyperbaric condition was maintained... I did hear of Brewdog trying a hyperbaric beer at somepoint, might be an idea to try!

I use a diffusion stone to aerate my wort with pure O2. I have not conducted any experiments but the beers I do that to seem to start more quickly. I read a research paper that showed the saturation levels of O2 in wort based upon the methods of shaking the FV, bubbling air in, and adding pure O2. The pure O2 added quite a bit more oxygen than the other methods. I changed my process at that point. YMMV.
