Out of date brew kits

Noticed in a hardware store the other day they had a bin full of brew kits out of date end of October. They were dirt cheap but is it likely to be a problem? Can't see the syrup being a problem so close to the date but do you think I'll need new yeast? Even if I do its still a bargain, anyone brewed I one out of date?

Yes mate i brewed a tom caxton ale that was two yrs out of date. Replaced the yeast and was fine.

have brewed quite a few kits that were years out of date. Some I had forgotten under the stairs!!

+1, 3 year OOD St Peter's, started up the yeast before pitching and all fine - I think I'll add one to the Doomesday Bunker!

You can make a great beer on expired kits, now will it be optimum quality? No but for the savings I would have cleaned out the bin. Pick up some new yeast and your set.
