Hi there
Any ideas on how I can brew an orangey coloured beer? What malt combinations would be good for this? I’m planning and orangey Pale ale/session ipa !!

Would this work as a late addition (at last 10 mins of mash)? Therefore avoiding bitterness from the roasted barley??

A small amount of roasted barley (like 50g in a 23L batch) with give you an amber type colour. Irish red ale reciepes do this to achieve their colour

When I read orange I assumed suffolkbeer meant that great pineapple juice colour common to American IPAs and pale ales.

To be honest I’ve been asked to make a beer that looks orange and tastes of oranges too! So I’m thinking of a alcoholic orangina, lol

For flavour and colour I think an Amarillo NEIPA is what you need. Have a look at stigman's at the top of this thread, a beautiful orange colour.

If you want to avoid the harsh tannin's from the roasted barley cold steep overnight and either add to the fermenter or the last 10 mins of the boil, (just the liquor not the grain)

The Mosaic smash I made using IREKS pale ale malt came out orange, somehow... lol You could always try something like that.
