Hi all,
I need to go away for a week and my FV has a kit bitter beer in it that I was going to bottle this weekend (after 14 days fermenting). The house will get quite cold, is it OK to leave the beer in the FV until I get back? Is there any difference in leaving it in the FV or in the bottle in a cold house? Thanks all for any replies.
Regards
Gidds

You will be fine to leave it and bottle when you get back. I often leave then in the FV for 3 or 4 weeks and they have all turned out fine.

If you have a spare fv transfer it off the trub and leave it in that for a week or 2.

It will be nice and clear by the time it comes to bottling too :thumb:

Thanks for replies bobsbeer and Will12283, I feel OK to now leave it in the FV for another week. Thanks for the advice about taking it off the trub, but haven't got a spare container at the moment. I really must invest in some more kit, although the Mrs is standing next to me with her arms crossed, tapping her foot! I need to work on her taste for home brew!
Regards to all,
Gidds

I was in the same boat till Christmas when I had some new kit :thumb:
