I'm sure I could squeeze it into next month's British ales competition as a traditional brown ale. Brett is the "British yeast" after all.

I came up with this recipe in 2018 and it turned out well and got really good reviews from friends, so brewed again this year by popular demand :) I'll probably keep doing it every couple of years as they make nice Christmas gifts and even those who don't normally drink dark beers like it.

It's by far the most complex recipe I brew. I've only been brewing about 4 years and only around 3 times a year so still mostly following existing recipes and keeping it simple. Was very surprised this went as well as it did first time round!
