You'll be relieved to know that this a question about bottle seals.

I sourced some nitrile o rings for my old stone-capped imperial pint bottles, but they don't 'alf stick when you try to open them. Could I use a tiny smidge of vaseline on them, like on PB seals, or would that be nasty to the beer?

Rings...............................Vaseline

:hmm: :hmm:

Perhaps K-Y may be more appropriate

Find out the hard way Bob?

Vasaline is not good for rubber.

Bob, I'm not sure what you're doing with it, but it looks like nitrile should be able to withstand some Vaseline: from our good friend, Wiki:
"[Nitrile] is used in the automotive and aeronautical industry to make fuel and oil handling hoses, seals, and grommets. It is used in the nuclear industry to make protective gloves."

Still not sure how the beer will cope though, or with cooking oil... or GA's K-Y Jelly. :hmm:
