Today a partial mash bitter based on a Coopers OS Lager can. It's by far the cheapest form of extract where I live so I use this as a base for most of my PM brews.
This is a 2nd version of the one pictured below. The 23 litre brew is modeled on a best bitter but using NZ malts and hops:
1.7kg Coopers (OS) Lager 44.7 %
1.5kg Gladfield Ale Malt 39.5 %
200g Gladfield Biscuit Malt 5.3 %
200g Gladfield Medium Crystal Malt 5.3 %
100g Gladfield Dark Crystal Malt 2.6 %
100g Sugar 2.6 %
10g Waimea [16.50 %] - Boil 15 min
25g Motueka [7.00 %] - Steep/Whirlpool 30 min
5g Gypsum
Nottingham slurry
Undecided option:
25g Riwaka - Dry Hop 3 Days
90 min mash @65úC
| OG=1.043 | IBU=29 | EBC =18 | ABV=4.4% |
