So, may I ask, how and when do you add flame out hops?? if your putting your near boiling wort in a plastic container

You could put them in a muslin bag and retrieve or leave them in as I leave trub from the kettle in the cube until I'm ready for pitching.It's entirely up to yourself as I'm experimenting as I go along to find which method works and suits.:thumb:

Thanks Gerry. I think this technique + flame out hopping needs further investigation. Perhaps you would like to set up a scientific trial of some sorts??

My brewing journey since starting back last year has been a scientific experiment and haven't Brewed the Sama batch twice except shall be doing that with my SMaSH.
Pitch three yeasts this evening before coming to work two of which were CML pale ale one 1st generation and the other second generation with the third being a 1st generation Gervin 12.
Currently have three in secondary for bottling and three in primary so busy but loving it

I have been thinking about this a lot, the general consensus is about 20 to 30 mins to flame out hops and then the wort must be cooled. My idea, and I will try it next time is draw of some wort into a glass, put in the flame out hops as it cools cover with cling wrap and next day when the cube is tipped into fermenter add the glass of flame out hops.
I have never thought much about the hopping until I read Gordon Strong's book, 'Brewing better beer' a really informative read for anyone doing home brew. Covers hops and additions very well, I think if one Googled his name there will be information about how he adds his hops.

On another note 2 years is the longest I have heard of a no chill being in a cube.
