That's an American Pale Ale - albeit it with NZ hops! Simple, but will be very tasty that.

Been meaning to do a bass draught for ages printed of recipe earlier on grabbed hops that i needed.
Then i checked te freezer.Quite a few bits and pieces of hops,on closer inspection i discovered 53grams of a hop with no label...AA4.4 also a similar amount of Amarillo....

Any suggestions?

Besides not losing label

ahhh finished think the unmarked might have been fuggle..

so 9kg pale
500 gram crystal
48grms "fuggle" 60 mins
53 grms amarillo 15 mins

split between 2 fermenters

1 so4
1 wlp002 slurry
meh hedging bets

bit of an experiment today....

have done things i said i never would.

but hey

was originaly planned to be a barley wine.......strictly speaking it ended up an imperial IPA.

as per usual something went wrong..

12kg pale
500 grms amber
500 grms crystal
500 grms torrified wheat
2 kg sugar(the bit i dont usually do)
400 grms treacle
100gms columbus 90 min boil

8kg base milled about a week ago...

so brewday consisted of filling hlt and starting to heat...milling remaining grain.

i usually heat to about 80 then adjust as required..

today it didnt work when i doughed in just over 60.....and tun nearly full

so scooped out 5 litres ...

boiled what was left in hlt (always heat more than i need)

back on track after 75 min mash 64.8

ended up with just shy of 50 litres going into 2 fermenters

fermnter 1 3rd use wlp002 pitched on to slurry

fermenter 2 500ml slurry from the above -1

ended up og 1.075

tasted ....bitter as hell then the sweeteness hits...

hopefully will be a winter warmer....

or summat to clear drains with

Sorry missed the yeast in the OP.

That's a shed load of Columbus for 90 mins - must be some serious IBUs in there....

Took a sample tonight wasn't expecting the result...

Bit of a follow up.
The batch that was put on slurry fermented out fine.
Bottled as in PIC.
The pint is a nelson smash
My cheap growler my my mystery hop ale.

The second fermenter that was on 500ml slurry has stalled had roused it earlier in week and raised heat . no joy.

Gonna hoof a packet of so4 in and see what happens.
