if you think about cctv the swan stuff from maplins is really good quality, cheap and easy to setup.

Very over-priced, last time I looked and some had pretty poor resolution. You can pick up good cameras on eBay pretty cheap (£30 - £40)if you know what to look for (520 lines, Sony CCD are good ones). Choose your focal length carefully, too. 3mm is wideangle, 6mm is quite narrow, 8mm is for distance. 3 or 4mm is suitable for most uses. Anything under £25 is generally a waste of money.

My mums from South Shields and all the walls down there have smashed glass cemented on the top, nightmare when I used to kick the ball over my grandads wall.

IP cameras are great. If not a bit pricey and a pain in the ass to set up initially. I have mine on motion detect.

Wherever i am in the world (never out of bristol), i can log in and see how my beer collection is looking. I can even talk through the camera and tell the thieving ***** to leave my beer alone. Not that they listen.

I cant wait for that day just to see the look on there face.

My, ahem, "mate" had such a problem a few years back when he lived out in the sticks.
He called the police to report it and ask for their advice. They give him the official blurb, but on the way out one of the coppers said to him "between me and you mate, next time you see someone out there go out and kick 7 colours of s**t out of him, we will back you up all the way. You look like you can handle yourself!"

He never had to resort to that, but they did find a person one night in the lane by his house who had lost quite a lot of blood and had several broken bones.. They think he must of got run over by a late night milk tanker or something...

:wha:

Went to a local family run printers shop and got three stickers made up warning of anti climb paint and barbed wire £1.70 each £5.10 should be legal now if any scum bag fancies there chances.

BTW Does anyone know if a company has to have a licence to sell barbed wire. I went to BNQ and couldn't find any asked an assistant and she told me companies have to have a licence to sell it and BNQ don't have one i thought that as strange a big company like BNQ so driving home i remembered a little family run wood shop [ yes another family run business. They are the best] walked in asked and the assistant said "yes ten metre roll in a bucket." job done.

not heard of that rule, but anything is possible these namby pamby days.
Your local agricultural suppliers should stock it.

Also contact your local Police via PCSO's and ask them for a Smart Water sample kit ( enough to do thousands of household items ) and get everything to own marked up, and the stickers up.
Bumped into my dog while doing it so he's smart watered now...as well as micro chipped..he hee.

lol.... We have a caravan near South Shields, and once when I went on a daytime pub crawl round there, I ended up in a very insalubrious area with walls like that ! :D

On an unrelated note, my wife's friend moved to Lochgelly to live with her chap ! Looks a nice place :thumb:

Got the stickers up. A pcso came round in the week and gave us a ultra violet pen for post marking our belongings Plus leaflets and advice. Top marks to the bizzies for that.

Lochgelly is full of thieving junkies, they stole my jeans off of the washing line once, scum bags!!!!!!

Smack heads, the same day they got stolen I had to phone the council because in the park at the back if my house was a pair of jeans full of man *****, so I'm assuming a junky's passed out in the park (as they do) and when he's woke up and realised he's had an accident he's looked over and seen my lovely clean washing blowing in the breeze and thought, that'll do me.

you'd be surprised at what they pinch from washing lines ! and for that matter what's hung on washing lines lol
