Hi guys,

just wanted to say hello, alway thought about doing homebrew for a longtime but never got round to it, A mate at work gave me a wine bottle full of his homebrew beer i wasn't expecting much to be honest took a mouthful of it and it was bang on.

So i ordered some gear and have a magnum apple cider kit on the go and the other day i was given a demijohn so i knocked up so turbo cider

me being a **** put all 5 litters in and in the morning the froth ( what ever u call it) was spunking out the airlock LOL. managed to clean the airlock out.

i got 5 litres of farmfood apple juice 69p a litre, had some brewing sugar left over didnt weigh it but maybe 300g so threw that in, used 5g of wine yeast, and half a teaspoon of yeast nutrient. not sure what its going to turn out like but i am enjoying the whole process so far! LOL i am planning on experimenting with other juice too. pineapple and cranberry are on my list.

Not every thing in brewing is set in stone, different people have different ideas and methods and all end up with decent drinks. In time you should be able to tailor your brewing to make what you want. Don't be afraid to ask questions, after 30 years I'm still learning.

Welcome Jayfrs,

Glad to see I'm not the only newbie here.

Only been here for a few days and already picked up a few great ideas from past posts and everyone seems to be helpful friendly and quick to offer advice and pointers.
