Good evening just joined the forum. After a gap of 20 odd years I've got back into brewing beer kits and I must say how much better they are now. I've done a couple of Bulldog kits in a tall thin fv as opposed to a bucket and they have both given off a really sulphurous smell . Anyone able to advise., cheers in advance. First one is in a barrel second one has just started fermentation, has something gone wrong? Cleaned, sanitised thoroughly

OK. It could still be a trait of Bulldog kits (eg the yeast they use) so don’t panic. Someone may be along any minute and tell you they have the same with these kits. Even if they don’t, keep the beers going because they are most likely fine. ;)

Thanks for your help I've done a few Mangrove Jack kits and never had this problem. Have read up it might be the yeast, fingers crossed cheers Pete

I've never brewed a Bulldog kit, but I agree that it's quite likely to be the yeast. Some yeasts do introduce a sulphurous character, which does reduce after fermentation is finished. It may dissipate completely with time, or it may slightly persist as a characteristic of the beer - I'm thinking particularly of Burton ales from the past, especially draught Bass (which had a well-deserved reputation for the perception of sulphur at both ends of the digestive system!).
It's certainly not likely to be a sign of things having gone wrong with your brew, so don't worry.
