About two years ago I got myself some brewing equipment as I love to try the guest ales at the local. I tried a couple of different beers/ales but they all seemed to have an amateur taste (probably because I am).

I like quite a few beers but love hobgoblin and Batemans XXXB. Has anyone got any recommendations on how I could brew something that would be similar and, hopefully, without me ruining it.

Thanks, Mark. When i say kit its FVs, pressure barrel, siphons, bottles, etc. Mainly for kits I suppose. I really would like to try to the full works with mash tuns etc but wouldn't know where to start, guess I need to do some reading and write a Christmas list !

we did 2 kits then went straight to all grain its not that hard but the difference is stunning didnt cost much either. Everything you need to know will be on here if its not just ask.

I have gone straight into AG and have never brewed any type of beer before, doing my third tomorrow and it is pretty easy. My first brew (Bouncing Squirrel) had quite a few errors but tastes amazing. In fact my dad now has about 3 pints every time he comes to our house and looks at me and smiles - Get your christmas list done. You would always be welcome to wessy land to do a first brew.

Andy

All grain brewing is great if you need advice on equipment pm me i made all my AG stuff from plastic (although we have upgraded to stainless steel) but we managed all grain brewing cheaply :D
