Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum - but not to brewing. I used to do it during my university days, but since my move to a country where alcohol is heavily taxed, I've decided to start up again.
I prefer to brew ginger beers and alternatives to traditional beer which are certainly more challenging to brew successfully in a tropical climate. I'm going to attempt mango wine and perhaps some of the other tropical fruit which is so abundant in this country.
I look forward to discussing techniques with other members and to learn as much as I can from everyone here. I'll post photos of my progress once I'm up and running.
I'll be starting up with Ikea flip top bottles and use locally available sugars as much as possible as traditional home brewing kit is simply not available here on the market and must be imported.
I'm also interested in learning how to start and keep a reliable source strain of yeast (if that is possible).
regards,
Jon
