I'm John Cranna from Abergavenny. I'm 67 and was given home brewing kit by my sister at Xmas when I was 18, when you could get beer kits from Boots. At one point I was using basic malt extract and adding hops and boiling but later resorted back to simple kits. I always thought about going to all grain method and about 2 months ago bought the Bulldog Master Brewer. I did my first brew about 3 weeks ago and bottled it on Sunday so hoping it will be good to drink in about a weeks time! The Master Brewer cost me £520 and seems very robust and good value for money.

I think most of us here can remember the days of boots beer kits fermenting in the airing cupboard thankfully home brewing has moved on a lot since then.
