Could you use the MJ LME x3 I.e. 3.6kg to make a drinkable beer, just adding spare hops and yeast?
U sure can I used to add lme a couple of liters of water to a pot and simmer with hops made some decent beer I tried generous dry hopping also without cooking got some good ones slso
 
Have you tried doing it or is that opinion?
It’s a great cheap way to try building your own brew, I’ve done this for a few small batches, tried out different yeasts, hops for boil and dry etc, add in a few grain additions. All of them have been very drinkable, a few very good! (IMHO).
 
As a relative newbie, I've heard the tales of kveik - what conditions would be suggested for brewing the Kveik IPA?

Ideally brew it at higher temps, around 30º will give the best results but you can brew it anywhere from 20º to 40º. At the lower end of the scale fermentation will take longer.
 
In interests of fairness I thought I should post my findings as I've just sampled my 1st pint of this from my keg. Again it's really good, lovely mouth feel, carbonation and a beautiful aroma. I'm going to enjoy this afternoon with a few of these I think. Cheers 🍻

Mine has been in the bottle for 2 weeks gutted I have just had covid and my taste and smell has gone to ****
 
I've got one of these brewing at the moment. Had an excellent time with the Juicy Session IPA, and with a newborn potentially limiting brewing time I thought I'd give this a shot. 10 days in and it's nearly done. Trial jar tastes promising so watch this space.

Have also got the Munton's Hazy IPA to whack on straight after with a view of having both ready for Xmas!

I bought this kit today myself. It sounds very interesting trying a mango light ale.

I haven't home brewed in around 5 years. The Young's raspberry and mango cider I recently brewed turned out fantastic so I've also brewed Muntons Hazy IPA, Mangrove Jack Czech pils and today I bought the mango light ale and Cooper's Mexican cervesa. Fingers crossed they all turn out well!
 
Mango IPA is now kegged (with some bonus bottles with the dregs, waste not want not :laugh8: ). After using some Pure Brew it's come in at 5.25%, which will do the job. Tasting very promising too. Few weeks conditioning and I'll have it ready for Christmas!

Plan was to get the Muntons Hazy IPA straight on, but think I'll be cutting it fine for the Holidays. So I'll go to plan B and finally get the Vic Secret Delight AG on that's been sitting in my cupboard.

It's a hard life......

I've made the MJ's Juicy twice now. Very drinkable. It's my mother in law's favourite and a top three of my wife's. Have a lot of lovely Belgian beers made. Just put on the Munton's Hazy IPA like you yesterday. It's bubbling vigorously like nothing else today! Hoping to try it by New Year.
 
Ten days conditioning and decided to give a bottle a test. Reassuringly it's cleared very well already, which for me is a first :laugh8: Lovely fruity smell and taste with a nice malty balance. There's a slight sourness at the end which I'm not sure if it's intentional or just down to age, and a slight twang possibly thanks to bottle carbing. But it's still young and so far looks to be a winner :thumbsup:

I made the Juicy Session IPA earlier in the summer and it was gorgeous , I loved it. A couple of months ago I tried another batch and after a couple of weeks of conditioning I tried a bottle. I was disappointed and like you say there was a little hint of sourness and a twang. So I left it for a few weeks, tried another bottle and it was still not great. However last night I tried one and it has come right, it tasted great, no sourness or twang. A beautiful beer, but it took a couple of months of conditioning to get there.
 
To be honest the sourness isn't unpleasant, just a tart edge as opposed to anything vinegary. As long as the slight twang disappears (give it a few more weeks and it'll be gone I reckon) then it'll be excellent.

Reminds me, should really check on the fermenter as keep forgetting there's one in there!
