Hi everyone!

I'm Justine, from just outside Edinburgh. Tomorrow I'm going to embark on my first home brew (a St. Peter's Gold kit). I'm brand new to this game, having decided that I need more hobbies to fill my time since being bored and missing studying with little to do in the evenings after graduating last year. As I love my beer, I couldn't think of anything better to take up (except maybe distilling whisky if I thought I could muster a half decent job at it!)

I'm sure I'll have lots of (probably silly) questions as a complete beginner, so this forum looks like a godsend!

Cheers,

Justine.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone, this seems like a friendly place!

Hi Justine, whereabouts are you from? there's quite a few Fifers on here! good luck with the brew.

Abeyptfc, I'm from West Lothian. I see from the map that you Fifers are better populated with home brewers than in these parts! A Partick Thistle fan in Dunfermline?! Well that's almost as strange as being a Killie fan in West Lothian...

Singin' I'm no a Killie, I'm no so fcuking silly, I'm no a Killie I'm a Jag! haha, lived in glasgow for first 19 years of my life then moved to Dunfermline 6 years ago. I work in Bathgate aswell, you can't be too far away!
I've done loads of kit brews, any worries give me a shout and I'll try and help you out, although now you've admitted you're a Killie fan I might have second thoughts!
cheers
Mark. :D

Good luck with the brew and welcome to the forum

One thing though:
Please note that as distilling is illegal without an awful lot of complicated paperwork from the government, any discussion of it on the forum is banned.
