I have watched loads of stuff on Netflix and have been looking at Amazon Prime i don't want to have both so i am leaning towards AP as they also seem to cover some of the premier league and other sports, if any members have used either or both could you give me your views on which is best and why, thanks.

I know there are other services but i am hoping just to discuss these two.

I voted Amazon only because I use it. A combination of the free prime delivery, Amazon music as I have a number of echo devices and some of the prime video shows. I do however find a lot of the Amazon prime original movies are absolute garbage but just a personal opinion.

I have both, and Netflix wins hands down.

There’s some good stuff on Amazon (Red Oaks and BeerMasters are the 2 I’ve enjoyed most, football is on it, my wife watches New Amsterdam and Gray’s Anatomy, and there are some really good quirky British films), but the content on Netflix is far superior. As far as I’m concerned the Prime streaming stuff is a bonus for getting the free postage through Amazon (we use subscribe and save for loads of cleaning stuff, toiletries, kitchen roll, coffee, multivitamins etc so the savings we make from that covers out Prime subscription)

Have both. I watch mostly prime. The kids seem to use Netflix more........ must mean AP is for us older more mature folks...🤷‍♂️

It's been growing year on year.

Think they currently have about 20% premiership....... which I really have no interest in but did have all this years autumn test rugby...... egg shape balls and all that but there is always stuff getting added

Actually forgot about the sport. They used to have the Thursday night NFL games. They have the current autumn rugby internationals except the Ireland games that are on channel 4. Wonder where the six Nations week be broadcast ?

Had Netflix fow a few years but gave it up when we got amazon prime free for a year. Actually rated amazon better to start with but that was just down to Fresh content.

On reflection I’d say Netflix is better but I don’t really rate either as there is so much crap to sort through to find anything half decent and I’ve also lost count of series on both I’ve just given up on half way through, which means you’ve wasted that time for nothing.
liked The bureau on amazon and the brew show of course,

I am finding the sport a big draw i don't watch a lot of football in fact only when my favourite team play i don't mind an occasional rugby game as we have the raiders in the next town so there is some interest, i like American football but only the extended highlights (too long to sit through a full game) are there any motor sports on (not F1)

The bureau had me addicted. Loved it. I just couldn't adjust volume in the middle of the show as the volume bar on screen covered the subtitles 🤣

Watching The Wheel of Time on Prime at the mo, and it's brilliant. Already had Netflix and I joined Prime on a 30 day free trial to get Christmas stuff delivered more quickly. I think I'll sign up for the year as it's only €49 a year or €5,95 a month. Cheaper than in the UK, I think.

BBC, itv and s4c will show the 6 nation's, they have the contract.

To answer the OP, in terms of the tv stuff Netflix is better but you get a lot more out of prime

I use AP both for prime free 1 day delivery and music. I haven't tried Netflix but one point that is important to me is that UHD is included in AP whereas Netflix charge £14.99 I think for UHD quality picture. Amazon music also have lots of ultra high quality streaming music and if you are listening on any half decent hifi this is way better than spotify. I know there are other providers (Tidal) but Amazon music is cheaper when you are already a Prime subscriber.

Regarding UHD...you will need a TV capable of processing the signal.

We have Netflix and Prime. We find ourselves watching original series and films more on Netflix and using Prime to rent or buy a movie for a movie night. Rakuten is also really good for the latter as they pick up a lot of movies straight out of cinema. I must say though - I have really enjoyed the way Amazon do football; being able to pick and choose from a selection of games over a few nights has been a real winner for me. In summary, I voted Netflix but am probably on the fence 🤣

We stopped watching traditional TV about 5 years ago. Anything on the Beeb, ITV or C4 we watch on demand. To this day we haven't watched anything on C5!

Yes you will need a new UHD T.V

The guy in the video says TV's under 65 inch do not benefit and people in the office couldn't tell the difference from a distance he also said manufacturers are dropping 1080p so we will all have a UHD T.V eventually.
