I've just sampled my first bottle of my first brew,it's only been in the bottle for ten days, but I was just curious
I must admit I'm over the moon with the early results...admittedly it was a tad flat, but the aroma and taste are comparable with the commercial stuff
I just hope I've got the patience to leave it alone until Crimbo
I can thoroughly recommend Nelsons Revenge to anyone

I'll look forward to mine then! I've got one on order, but I'm gonna use some S-04 and put the kit yeast to one side. I've currently got the wherry on the go.

I've just kegged Admirals Reserve today, and the "syphon mouthfull" seemed quite nice
I've got reservations about the Wherry due to the amount of 'sticking' reported on here :hmm:
NR and AR have both been totally problem free, even to a novice like me

I've emailed Woodfordes regarding the sticking situation so I'll let you all know the outcome of that. They might even choose to post something on here.

I have had my revenge in the FV for 4 days now, using Safeale S-04 also, it went crazy the first 2 days then seemed to stick its a lot slower now, there is still pressure under the lid but bubbles are somewhat lacking. I'm going to check the gravity tomorrow, it went in at 1.044(ish). The kit reccomends after 5 days stick it in Barrel/bottle with sugar/dex for another week or so.... I'll keep checking the gravity untill it stops dropping and then second ferment it, half bottles half barrel I think..

I did Admiral's Reserve, fermenting fairly cool at 19-20C it was 3 weeks in the primary, it did stick a bit at about 1020 but a stir and a little bit more heat got it going again. Went a bit hotter for the last few days to get it a low SG as I could unfortunately can't remember what it came down to. I'd say that 5 days is way to short for the primary ferment, even if my 3 weeks was a bit long.

I put most into Keg and just a couple of bottles, the keg stuff was very good, the bottles were even better, wish I'd put more into bottles. Didn't want to have a half full keg...too much air space

Being new to the game,I haven't paid too much attention to SG issues yet ( cue wise old sages sorrowfully shaking their heads  ).
Following advice on here,I left it in the fv for two weeks,SG was in the green band (ish),so bottled it,and achieved the outcome in my OP
As I said earlier,I think it's difficult to get these Woodfordes kits wrong.....famous last words I know

you wil never go wrong with one of the Nelsons Revenge its a cracking kit even the other half was drinking it :thumb:

It's a great pint, my favourite out of the woodfordes :thumb:

All the woodfordes i've done have never been ready after 5 days, you should be looking at 10-14 days in the fv. I'm just about to keg mine thats been in the fv for 13 days
