Just bottled my finlandia apple and pear cider kit and need something new to brew as i have lots of empty bottles, done some turbo ciders so want a highly recommended kit or something done by you guys, any suggestions greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance guys

Depends what you like really, but a wherry kit gets good results, that was my first kit over six years ago. :D

i like anything really and if i dont like it a lot then i just drink some give the rest to friends and family, if i brew it and dont like it at all i just wont brew it again, but never would waste it!! im just trying to get some experience brewing, but the tasting is all good too :D

7654321:
7 lemons - juice of (sieved)
6L white grape juice
5 bags of sugar
4L orange juice
3L apple juice
2 heaped teaspoons of tanin
1 desert spoon of glycerine.
Top up to 6 gallons and pitch with a GP yeast.

You did say you have lots of bottles and I bottle this stuff in beer bottles because crown caps are cheaper than corks.
It produces a very drinkable dry white wine that costs me less than £13 for 6 gallons.
My family have been stunned by the results and I currently have 12 gallons brewing.

That looks a nice recipe there Ken :thumb:

I have six white grape juice in the cupboard that are nearly past their best before end date, I might give this one a go.

Edit: I forgot to ask earlier, what is the ABV of the wine.

Never calculated it but it's in the 12% range.
I've done it with an extra bag of sugar and it still brews dry but ends up to strong to use as a table wine and the flavour isn't as good.
Oh, and don't forget to pour the lemon juice in through a sieve cause it's a lot easier to do that than to put 6 gallons of wine through one to get the bits out.......

I like Moley's tip about the tanin too. Mix it with the sugar and then stir it up dry to seperate it and stop it from clumping up. Other than that, I litterally just dump everything into the FV and top up with hot water from my combi (I take the shower head off and fill the FV in the bath) until it gets to six gallons. No messing and no boiling needed.

cheers guys for the suggestions, also thanks for the recipe, will deff be choosing something to brew in next few days, anyone done any really good cider kits, ones that stand out and really impress?

Those would be the bog standard 1kg bags available from my local Asian supermarket for 50p or Lidl for (I think) 64p.

Got to give a big round of applause to Ken for this one.
I brewed some up in early March and have just started drinking it. :thumb:

You all really do have to give it a go.

Cheers
