If the top didn't fir in your fridge, you could of sanitised some cling film and put that on the top of your FV (with a big elastic band to hod it in place for extra security). I do this instead of using a top on my FV's

How do you go about sanitising clingfilm? I find the stuff an absolute nightmare even to wrap a sandwich never mind anything else!

Do you know what height the overall keg + tap is? Need to convince SWMBO that it won't mess up her fridge!!!!

ill measure it when im home but remember if your mrs has a problem with it. you wont always have a keg in their unless your chilling and then drinking one over the course of a few days or even a week so that should ease her pain. however I always have a keg in the fridge as I own 12 mini kegs :) ( massive Jeremy Clarkson smug face)

Another forumite stated that C02 can pass through cling film. Whether that's true or not I have no idea. I've certainly never put any pin pricks in the cling film in all the time I've done it

I have a coopers FV witch is clear so I have no problems looking at the brew. infact I sometimes wish it wasn't clear. I can sometimes find myself just looking at it loosing track of time ha ha

so I checked on my beer this evening and thought id better take a look at the raspberries that were steeping in the brew, as some of the berrys were sat out of the brew bobbing on top of it I wanted to make sure any mold hadn't set in. However when I looked inside the muslin bag I was greeted with this

now this picture really doesn't do the berries any justice and they look terrible on the picture however, what I could see was the berries had been degrading in the brew and the colour was falling out of the raspberries. they didn't smell off at all it just smelt like alcohol. I tried the brew and it tasted fine. their was no visible evidence that their was any infection ontop of the brew so, so far so good. fingers crossed it carries on doing well and it comes out good. took a hydrometer reading and it sat at 1022 so were around half way through already. I added some brupak lager flava tonight as well.

so its been 15 days in the FV fridge and iv just removed 30g of hall and im now adding 30g of Saaz. Shes nearly finished now, shes down to 1.011 from 1.044 so not long to go. the picture makes it look darker than it really is. its beautiful ha ha

Hey Rob,
How did this one turn out? I started brewing a Coopers Canadian Blonde kit yesterday with the intention of adding frozen raspberries in a couple of days. I also have some tettnang hops and was thinking of using these to dry hop later in the fermentation. I wasn't sure whether the hops would suit the fruit in the beer, so really keen to find out how yours turned out and anything you'd do differently.

Cheers Mat
