and I seem to have been making a hobby of repairing my lawnmower this year!! First the fuel tank developed a leak and had to be replaced, then the carb started leaking and needed to be pulled apart, and lastly one of the cables to the controls broke and needed repaired....

My other hobby, though it has been somewhat neglected recently...

Rover 220 Turbo?

I had one of those on loan, back in 1999, it was brilliant fun, if not quite as good on the corners as a Ford Escort Cossie, I still have fond memories of the month it was 'mine', that targa top was nice for crusing around on warm summer nights :D

Is it a special edition? :hmm:

It wasn't a special edition in its day 20 years ago but there aren't too many turbo models around now, and very few in this colour... and even fewer in tihs condition :D Most have been driven to death or taken apart to put the engine in something else sadly.

Spot on! :thumb: Yeah without a tweak they were never great in the corners, though in a straight line even by today's standards it's quick. Those were the days before everything was weighed down with safety equipment

I had 150+ indicated on the M40 one warm summer night, the guy in the BMW328 wasn't impressed, but he could have bought a good car instead ;)

And yes, it was light, stopped on a sixpence, again, not quite Cossie territory (one of my colleagues had one, the month in 99 was a bit full of testosterone :) )but it'd have most cars in the same price range.

I really liked the way the engine just kept reving, and then revinng some more, almost reminescent of a Honda VTech

Been realy busy with house stuff so only just read this thread. My main hobby at the moment is fitting a new Kitchen LOL

So far I have had time to paint the master cylinder top and an engine cover.

My other hobby is the old yacht. This pic was taken by the previous owner, but she's still the same colourwink...
Sulya.jpg

She's a wee bit older than me but she still floats. 30' LOA, four berths, galley and there's a shower in the heads. The old 12hp inboard engine died a few months ago but there's another second-hand engine, only 6.5hp this time but that was what I could afford so the sails will be up a bit more:doh: It's lying in the engine bay at the moment to be installed, might do a bit of it tomorrow in the marina if the weather is half decent.
Delting Marina.jpg

The marina is a great place to keep her. Unfortunately, one of the rules states that masts come down at the end of October, and stay down until the beginning of April the following year. Gives me a bit more time to get the engine installed and the brewing done, I suppose:cool:
