Noticed that our Sainsbury's had carrots at 50p a Kilo, well can't resist that....then shopping elsewhere passed a little wholefood shop, popped in, and found a 1lb bag of wheat, too.

After consulting various recipes:
5lb carrots
1lb wheat
3lb sugar (holding 1lb back to feed in case of furious ferment)
2 oranges
2 lemons
3.5 ozs finely chopped raisins & sultanas

When cooled, will add nutrient and yeast. Wondering whether to chuck in a bit of malt extract to boot.

Chopping and cooking the carrots took ages....

Forgive my ignorance, but will this end up as carrot wine ?

Good question - it's a combination of 3 recipes, one of which calls it 'carrot whiskey'. But they are all from home made wine books.

I will have to watch out that it doesn't turn into carrot rocket fuel
