Guilty as charged. A friend told me about the car (which was gathering dust in a hanger at RAF Swinderby), and roused my interest with the remark 'Where else can you buy a car that does 100 MPH for 100 quid? The problem was trying to insure it!
You can't tease us like that without telling us the band!Back in the 90's when I was a vocalist in a small sheffield heavy band, I was asked to join a very well known metal band, they had heard one of my recordings through producer Andy Sneap, and wanted me to replace there newly departed member.
But because of a bit stealth on their behalf they wouldn't tell me the name of the band as it might cause rumours in the media, So they approached me via telephone and gave me the run down, problem was they used the fake name to cover the real name and the name they used was china peach or something like that.
On hearing the name and only being told they had a record contract with a major us label and nothing more, I declined their interest and it was solid interest, As they didn't sound like my kind of music.
A few years later whilst in a pub in manchester, I somehow got talking to a friend of a friend, turns out he was the guy I spoke too on the telephone and that they always used ridiculous names when trying to recruit members.
We got talking about music and thats how we ended up realising we had previously spoke.
I told him if he hadn't used such a silly name as a disguise, I would have joined.
Small world.
You can't tease us like that without telling us the band!
It certainly sounds like it...Is it Judas Priest?
I know, the band was called Kill2This, bloody ridiculous name, but they had been signed to east west records if i remember rightly, wasn't really my type of metal, but it would have got my name out there on a wider stage. You can't tease us like that without telling us the band!
I always have my fly done up Banbeer - don't you?looks like his fly is done up!!
