Hi All,
I am sure this question has been asked on this forum before so if you could point me in the direction of any tips then that would be great.
I started ferementing my Muntons IPA on the 1st August when I pitched my yeast at 27 degrees C .
I wasn't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing but it started to ferment by day 3 and I had a significant scum ring and a good layer of yeast on the bottom of the fermenter, so I assumed that all was progressing quite nicely. The temperature has been a regular 22 degress C under my sink all week and so I thought I would check the gravity yesterday (8th August) as fermenting seemed to have stopped. It measured 1020 (original was 1042)... but I was expecting it to be lower than that... don't know why, maybe because my last brew feremented out in a week and fell to 1012.
Is there any way I can kick start the yeast to see if it will ferment some more or do you think I should wait for another week and re-check the gravity? :wha:
