So my stout has been in the fv for ten days now, being my second brew the crazy excitement factor has gone slightly so I have not been hugging my FV morning and night this time. Today I went to check the gravity (which was nicely down to 1.09 from 1.40) when I noticed what can only be described as "stuff" on the side of the fv all around to the point where you can't tell what colour the brew is due to this brow/green "stuff". Anyway the temperature has never wavered from 22 degrees and I drew off a sample to check the gravity and it has lots of little bits floating around it but I was brave held my nerve and had a good taste and it tastes like it is coming along ok.
So is this typical stout behaviour as I experienced nothing like this with my lager brew?
