I have two Mr Beer Craft Range kits to put on and I was thinking of adding something else to them. I have the Biwitched and the Winter Ale Kits. The Biwitched one has turned out nice in the past just on its own.

Has anyone used these kits and have you added anything to them to bring them out a bit more? I was thinking of 500 gram of Brew Enhancer or possibly dry hopping.

Many ideas for pimping these kits on the Coopers web site:

https://www.diybeer.com/au/recipes/

Unfortunately no easy way (that I can see) of searching by the kit type you have so you'll probably need to click on a few to find something suitable.

Edit: Actually if you filter on volume 7-10L it seems to be all the Mr Beer recipes so narrows it down a bit.

Cheers Gaz. The link seems to be down at the moment, but I will keep an eye out for it. They seem to have cut their Craft range down a bit, which is a shame. I was thinking of putting three Bewitched tins into a normal sized FV to make the the normal sized batch. It will be a bit costly, but the craft range has everything in them so no need to add other bits, which will be good.

Aren't these kits are the smaller volume equivalents of premium kits? They certainly are cost wise (nearly £10 for 8.5 litres of beer ashock1). The idea of premium kits is that you generally brew 'out of the box' without needing anything extra. So doesn't the same apply to the Mr Beer kits? Or have I missed something??
If these kits come up short by needing something extra to 'bring them out a bit more' they aren't worth the money, and you might just as well buy a standard one-can, some grain for a partial mash or just a steep, extra hops, then brew short, and you will then have a much more diverse choice of what to brew.

Yes they are designed to be one can only and there is no need to add anything else to it. I was just thinking of trying to take it to another level. However, the Bewitched brew is great on its own.

A bit late to the party, but I made the Winter Ale kit and I thought it was pretty good as is.
If I were to make another one of these kits I'd do them to the instructions on the can and not waste money adding something.
As terrym says the cost is quite up there.

I was in the place I buy my stuff the other day and they had one which was just out of date.
The owner wasn't around otherwise I'd have asked how much.
Nearly a tenner here in Australia by the way.
