What would be the outcome if you fermented a beer as a Duvel clone with WB-06 yeast....would it be a minger, lacklustre or close to the mark...any thoughts? :hmm:

If you don't use Duvel yeast then you won't get near a "clone"....
I've done a golden ale, and managed to get a final gravity of 1.007, but I really had to ramp the temperature up (and it's nowhere near Duvel).
I do thinks it's a bit of a challenge to make a beer that light in colour and with so high alcohol and still get something that's interesting to drink.

Here's an interesting read: http://www.beerhunter.com/documents/19133-000020.html

Interesting item Rabbie!
Overnight my thoughts on a different yeast to use have changed as my Brewferm devil yeast clone has just reanimated ..."it's alive"! This is after a duvel yeast cloning failure on which I dumped this afterthought - but it seems to be working at the moment.Hopefully I'll be able to use this for my Duvel clone :thumb: :D

As they mentioned in the article you'll only get a single strain if you culture from the bottle, but WYeast and White labs both have a yeast you can buy if you want to go down the clone route:

Good luck with the brew!
I am starting to think of getting something along the lines of Orval brewed...
